Sarah Court BSc BTAA - Bowen Practitioner - Newbury - Berkshire

History

The Bowen technique was devised by an Australian named Tom Bowen in the latter half of the 20th Century and up until his death in 1982. Although he had no medical background, he was fascinated with the way the body moved, people's posture and the affect of trauma on the body.

Tom gradually adapted the technique until he was successfully treating around 13,000 patients a year, concentrating his efforts on the deprived.

In 1974, two fellow Australian's called Oswald and Elaine Rentsch, became good friends with Tom and were allowed to observe and document his work. About a decade later, Ossie and Elaine were training others.

The Bowen technique is now one of the most exciting therapies around and is being practiced all over the world.
